BSc in Corporate Finance with a Specialisation in Portfolio & Wealth Management

The redesigned BSc (Hons) Corporate Finance programme at International Business School (IBS) Budapest offers a modern, career-focused education that combines essential financial knowledge with the analytical, technological and strategic skills required in today's rapidly evolving financial industry.

The most exciting innovation is the introduction of a new Portfolio & Wealth Management specialisation, designed for students interested in financial markets, investments, asset management and the strategies behind building and preserving wealth.

As global financial markets become increasingly sophisticated and technology transforms financial services, organisations need professionals who understand investments, risk, digital assets and long-term financial decision-making.

The renewed programme prepares students to navigate these challenges and pursue careers across banking, corporate finance, investment management and financial services.

Students complete three semesters of shared business and financial studies before choosing between two specialisations in the fourth and fifth semesters.

Portfolio & Wealth Management

This innovative specialisation focuses on understanding financial markets, managing investments and developing strategies for wealth creation and preservation. It combines traditional investment principles with emerging financial technologies and modern asset classes.

Students develop specialised knowledge across four key areas:

  • Principles and Practices of Portfolio & Wealth Management: Understand investment portfolios, asset allocation, diversification, risk-return relationships and the foundations of professional wealth management.
  • Strategic Portfolio & Wealth Management: Explore advanced investment strategies, long-term wealth planning and portfolio management decisions.
  • Trading and Digital Assets: Discover financial trading, emerging digital asset classes and the opportunities and risks associated with evolving financial markets.
  • Banking, Risk Management and Financial Technology: Understand financial institutions, risk assessment and how artificial intelligence and digital technologies are transforming financial analysis and investment services.

What makes this specialisation unique?

Students learn not only how financial markets operate, but also how investment decisions, risk management, technology and strategic financial planning work together. The specialisation bridges traditional finance and modern wealth management, preparing students for a financial sector increasingly shaped by data, digital assets and AI.
