Emirates ensured our comfort throughout our long travels with connecting flights. They served us delicious dishes on the way there and back. After arriving we checked into our hotel where we experienced the highest level of luxury. Exceptional hospitality, helpful staff and diverse menu are the best words to describe it
During our stay we visited numerous attractions. Amongst them were the Traditional Hanok Villages which preserved the feeling of the former Korea. We stopped by the iconic landmark of Seoul, the Namsan Tower. From the high vantage point, we gained a magnificent view of the city at night. On another occasion, we traveled to the top floor of Korea’s largest building, the Lotte World Tower. We visited the National War Museum of Korea where thousands of years of history can be seen. The city has many green areas so we took numerous walks around them. The drone show, above the Han River, was the most unique event we have ever seen. Around 2000 drones recreated scenes from the popular movie, KPOP Demonhunters.
Seoul is very diverse gastronomically. We tried countless restaurants and cafes. The cafes were built around different themes such as a nature based, Ghibli film studio themed and a waterfall themed one. In the restaurant we have tried local specialities including kimchi, udong noodles and korean barbecue.
To reach the different locations, we often relied on public transportation, which turned out to be surprisingly inexpensive, with a very modern and easy-to-use system. We had the opportunity to use several metro lines crossing the city. For specific locations we ordered taxis, which was also available to us at a completely affordable price.
The locals were hospitable and welcoming toward us everywhere. Despite English not being that widely spoken we never had any problems with communicating. On public transportation and at attractions everything was displayed in English as well.
We were lucky with the weather, it was sunny during all of our days. We never came across any rain, cold or wind.
Seoul is an exceptionally gorgeous, clean and organized city. We did not see any kind of trash on the streets even though finding a trash bin was a challenge.
It was an unforgettable journey and experience for us. In the future we hope to see South Korea again.
Thank you to IBS and Emirates for the opportunity!
