In the spring of 2025 for the fourth time, the International Business School Budapest hosted World Tour an English-language competition for 11th – and 12th grade high school students.

Similarly to earlier years, hundreds of students competed in our trivia competition which we organized in collaboration with the British Embassy and Emirates Airlines. A highlight of this year’s event was its international expansion, welcoming students from Serbian, Croatian, and Slovakian high schools too.

The top-performing students from the qualifiers in March advanced to the final round, which started on April 25th in front of an international panel of judges. The awards ceremony took place on June 6, 2025, at the IBS campus.

The winner, Bálint Juhos, a student of Veres Péter High School in Békásmegyer, was awarded a week-long trip for two to any destination served by Emirates. Szilvia Számodóné Békéssy, who prepared Bálint for the World Tour, received a special award of 400,000 Ft from IBS, while the winner’s high school was granted a prize of 1,200,000 Ft.

Enikő Kovács, a student of DSZC Bethlen Gábor Közgazdági Technikum és Kollégium in Debrecen, earned second place. Her teacher who helped in the preparations was János Kapusi. Enikő also won a one-week-long trip too.

Third place went to Mihály Kakuk from Árpád Secondary School in Tatabánya, a student of Ildikó Blaskó. As his prize, Mihály won a weekend trip for two to any European destination.

The top three finishers will be hosted a tea party by the British Ambassador of Hungary at the Ambassador’s residence in Budapest.

All finalists were awarded a scholarship towards bachelor programmes offered by the International Business School.

Thanks to the growing popularity of the competition, we look forward to welcoming applications from high schools and students again in 2026 for the World Tour with the generous support of Emirates Airlines and the British Embassy.
