Chief Accountant / Finance Manager
Location: 1031 Budapest, Záhony utca 7, Graphisoft Park
Employer: International Business School (IBS)
Working model: Hybrid (1–2 days home office per week)
Type of contract: full-time, open-ended

Key Responsibilities
- Daily bookkeeping and review of accounting records
- Supervision and control of invoicing activities
- Preparation and submission of tax returns and other mandatory statutory declarations
- Recording, approval, and supervision of domestic, EU, and third-country payments
- Acting as the primary point of contact withauthorities (tax office, regulatory bodies, auditors)
- Close cooperation with internal organisational units and stakeholders
- Supervision of payroll-related and labour administration processes
- Cash desk back-up duties and substitution when required
- Monitoring and managing cash flow
- Financial coordination of student refunds
- Preparation of monthly financial and management reports
- Financial review and opinion of contracts from an accounting, tax and financial perspective
- Continuous process improvement and participation in digitalization initiatives
- Active member of the management team, supporting executive leadership
Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Registered Certified Accountant qualification
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including 3–4 years in a Chief Accountant role
- Strong hands-on, operational mindset
- Strong motivation for development, process improvement, and digital transformation
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
- Intermediate English language skills (business communication level)
- Service-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused mindset
- Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Problem-solving skills
Nice to Have (Advantages)
- 2–3 years of people management experience, leading a small team (2–3 colleagues)
- Experience in a regulated industry, preferably in education or higher education
- Knowledge of SUP ERP system
- Experience with NEXON payroll and HR system
