- Overview
Orsolya Udvari comes from the field of social sciences and began her doctoral studies in 2021 at Corvinus University of Budapest in the Sociology Doctoral Program. She is a junior research fellow at the HCSO Institute for Quantitative Population and Economic Research (formerly the Hungarian Demographic Research Institute) and at the ELTE Centre for Social Sciences. Her PhD project, Narratives in Hungarian Obstetric Care, examines inequalities and women’s experiences within maternity care, with a special focus on childbirth. She has conducted interviews and fieldwork with women from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds. Her research interests lie at the intersection of social and gender inequalities, reproductive decisions, and demographic change. She has been involved in several research projects and has taught sociology seminars at Corvinus University of Budapest and Semmelweis University. She will teach Critical Analysis & Effective Writing, as well as Fundamentals of Research – Data Analysis seminars at IBS.
