Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Skills

We are currently looking to fill the following faculty position: Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Skills (Academic Area Leader)

Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Skills (Academic Area Leader)

Type of contract:


Full-Time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer

Key responsibilities:


• Delivering engaging lessons on a variety of modules in one or more skill areas (academic, communication, intercultural, IT, and/or quantitative skills);
• Co-ordinating the work of tutors teaching in and developing the modules belonging to the “Skills” academic area, which includes the range of transferable and employability skills listed above;
• Encouraging faculty to enhance learning and teaching in the academic area in line with IBS’s learning and teaching strategy and associated policies, practices and processes;
• Reviewing the work of the “Skills” academic area through standing and ad hoc meetings with faculty and student representatives, and serving on the Learning and Teaching Committee to share and discuss insights;
• Representing the academic area during, and preparing reports for, meetings organized by the School with internal or external bodies these bodies;
• Taking active part in strategic development projects.

Qualifications:


• PhD (or close to completion) in a related field (required);
• Ability to teach in English (required) and in Hungarian (preferred);
• At least 3 years (for Lecturer) / 5 years (for Senior Lecturer) of teaching experience in higher/adult education or training (required);
• Work experience in a corporate setting (preferred).
 

Remuneration:

Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience

Visiting Lecturer in Data and Management

We are currently looking to fill the following faculty position: Visiting Lecturer in Data and Management

Visiting Lecturer in Data and Management

Type of contract:

Self-employed (Part-time)

Location:

1031 Budapest, Záhony utca 7

Key responsibilities:

• Developing the existing materials and assessment, and designing new ones, for the core BSc first-year Management Information Systems module focusing on using, analysing, visualising data for making managerial decisions in various functional areas, and supporting these with the use of Excel and Access;
• Co-ordinating the work of the teaching team of the module;
• Delivering engaging lessons on relevant modules, and potentially other modules in the information and communication technology field;
• Participating in IBS’s teacher training activities.

Person specification:

• Good theoretical and practical grasp of contemporary uses of data in organisations and management (required);
• Master’s degree in a related field (required);
• Ability to teach in English (required) and in Hungarian (preferred);
• Work experience as a business data analyst or in a similar role (preferred);
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in higher/adult education or training (preferred).
