1. BSc programmes

Academic requirements:

High school diploma and a certified English translation of your high school diploma if it is not in English.

  • US High School Diploma
  • Maturita
  • Abitur
  • аттестат зрелости
  • VWO
  • French Baccalaureate
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Érettségi bizonyítvány
  • Other international secondary or postsecondary qualification will be considered individually.

English skills:

BSc applicants are required to pass IBS’ own English Language Placement Test  that consists of a 100 minute test and an oral part with a listening task.

If the applicant has a certificate of

  • the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.0 points (including a minimum of 6 for both the reading and writing component)
  • or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 (213 in the computerised version, 80 in the iBT version)
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a score of 176-184 (with a minimum of 175 in each component)
  • International GCSE English as a Second Language with a score of C or higher on extended curriculum
  • London University GCE O level Syllabus B in English Language with a score of C or higher
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a score of 59-65 (with 4 minimum component scores of 59),

the applicant is not required to take the written test, only the oral part.

2. MSc programmes

Academic requirements:

Two of our Master's programmes, International Management and Human Resource Management are conversion programmes, so they can be attractive also for those wishing to make a career change: entry requirement is a first or second class Bachelor degree in any field of study.

The Financial Management and the Marketing Management programmes are available only for applicants with relevant first or second class degrees.

Our Master's by Research programmes require:

  • a first or second-class honours degree from a recognised university or a recognised professional qualification with significant and relevant work experience,
  • applicants must submit his/her proposal by email. If the proposal is accepted, student will proceed with the payment transfer of the first instalment and then will have a consultation session on his/her proposal with the Supervisor via Skype.

Mature students not meeting the above requirements should contact us with their complete application documentation, which will be considered on an individual basis.

English skills:

MSc applicants are required to pass IBS’ own English Language Placement Test that consists of a 100 minute test and an Orientation Interview.

If the applicant has a certificate of

  • the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 points (including a minimum of 6.5 in each component of assessment)
  • or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 575 (232 in the computerised version, 90 in the iBT version),
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a score of 176-184 (with a minimum of 175 in each component)
  • International GCSE English as a Second Language with a score of C or higher on extended curriculum
  • London University GCE O level Syllabus B in English Language with a score of C or higher
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a score of 59-65 (with 4 minimum component scores of 59),

the applicant is not required to take the written test, only the interview.

3. DPhil (PhD) programmes

Academic requirements:

  • first or second class, upper division degree or significant work experience. A Master’s degree is preferred,
  • after a successful Skype interview and English testing applicant must submit his/her proposal by email. If the proposal is accepted, student will proceed with payment transfer of the first year’s fee and will have a face-to-face consultation on his/her proposal with the Supervisor.

English skills:

The IBS Research Officer checks the applicant's English skills with an Orientation Interview via Skype after the online application. The interview is followed by IBS’own English Language Placement Test that consists of a 100 minute test.

If the applicant has a certificate of

  • the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 points (including a minimum of 6.5 in each component of assessment)

4. University Foundation

This is an English course with goups from beginner to advanced level. Non-EU students must have a high school diploma to be able to attend. Students take IBS’s own  English Language Placement Test before starting the programme.
