Students of Business and Diplomacy had the opportunity to welcome Mr Tamás Talpai as a guest lecturer at their recent seminar on International Security.

Mr. Talpai is a Counselor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. He is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable experts on arms control issues. Representing the Government of Hungary he is a regular participant of several international conferences covering disarmament talks.

In his lecture he has touched upon some of the key questions that dominate these negotiations. He presented a state of play in nuclear, chemical, as well as conventional arms control fora.

Nuclear non-proliferation, especially the cases of North Korea, Israel and the Indian Subcontinent were of particular interest to the students.
