Meet Krisztina Balla, former IBS student at Swicon
Our peer mentor students, Anna Shahbazyan, Enikő Ördög, Taraneh Shabestanimonfared and Bálint Janecskó visited Swicon and learned not only about how Swicon works, but also about open positions, as well as qualities and competencies that are the most in-demand.
Swicon, located in Graphisoft park and founded in 2008 by Swiss and Hungarian entrepreneurs, provides IT services for companies and for individuals. Swicon has reached 4.5 billion HUF turnover by working with more than 300 employees with a new office in Bucharest. Companies commission them to search appropriate profiles/candidates to a position sometimes under very heavy time pressure. Their other main focus is permanent placement and staff augmentation in connection to their HR services. They have prestigious partners, banks, insurers, telecommunication companies.
Bálint Petre, recruiter described how headhunting, selling and the connection of parties are done. Dávid Csiba, Head of Recruitment Operations gave some good advice about how to present yourself in an interview situation. Here are his three most important tips: be honest but always display your strengths, be active and have questions (the more the better) and have a “golden nugget”, something that is very personal, very unique, be it in your education, projects, hobby, anything.
Krisztina Balla, Chief Business Development Officer at Swicon, had studied at IBS, and she told a bit about her own career, the road that led her this position. After completing her IBS studies in 2000, she studied for a degree in Legal Qualifications for Economists, then worked in Inter-Europa Bank/San Paolo IMI Group, where she was the Head of Electronic Product Development. Following this, she worked in Cellum as Chief Sales Officer – Mobil payment, mobile parking for 11 years before she joined Swicon.
Swicon has a very unique graphic design that communicates an important message: Anybody can become a superhero. The comics-like imagery reflects adventure, dare and love of life. By this new, green and more sober design, the company's aim is to attract both young candidates and business partners.
