This summer the Hungarian House of Photography in Mai Manó House is holding an exhibition of photos representing the last 10 years of Budapest, the Capital of Hungary.
The photos that are exhibited, are award winning photos depicting Budapest and they interact with each other.
Watching a movie or taking a look at a picture always arouses new perceptions, ideas and that makes the whole 'show' even more interesting.
In these pictures I discovered the accustomed beautiful moments of Budapest, some schocking and rather stirring looks as portraits, and places that I have never seen before in a context like this...
When I was a little girl, I thought that Budapest was just a huge gray city in the middle of Hungary but as time passed I realised how much I love the people, living here, the architecture, the excellent food everywhere and also the breathtaking views from so many points of the city...
I could never say again that I am bored of a city like this that is why I agree with the following quote stated by the grant founder of Budapest Photography, Péter Korniss:
“Fortunate is the city which can confront itself in the images of outstanding photographers”
Yes, Budapest is definitely fortunate to show its different 'colours & faces' to the photo viewers, the tourists, the citizens and all the people, who come to see this capital by sunlight and at night... ;)
