Judit is a Professor of International Economics and Development Studies at IBS and a Research Professor at the Institute for World Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She holds a BA in International Trade, an MA in International Relations, and a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Economics (Budapest). She was Visiting Professor at Dar es Salaam University (Tanzania) between 1985 and 1989 and conducted field research in Botswana, China, India, Tanzania, and Namibia. Her main fields of research are international trade, WTO, FDI, agricultural development, food security, international development aid with special regard to the African countries South of the Sahara. She has over 320 scientific publications in Hungarian and foreign languages. She participated and/or lectured at more than 180 international conferences and conducted consultancy and research for international organisations such as the EU, ILO, KPMG, UNCTAD, UNIDO, UNITAR, World Bank. She is a supervisor of doctoral students at IBS Budapest.
