Role description:

Providing administrative support for international students with regards to settling in at IBS and in Hungary, with particular focus on:

  1. Providing face-to-face technical advice and administrative support to international students in regards to immigration, health, insurance, financial issues, accommodation, banking, phone subscriptions, transportation (domestic and foreign) issues and related administrative matters (i.e. tax, TAJ and students cards)
  2. Distributing online and paper-based information and advice for students in relevance to settling in at IBS and in Hungary (booklets, leaflets, Moodle and Intranet)
  3. Organising information events for students around particular practical issues of interest
  4. Contributing to programme development for IBS’ Student Wellbeing Team provision

Facilitating the development and strengthening of the IBS student community by:

  1. Supporting the community needs of IBS students by overseeing the organisation and running of students’ clubs and sports activities
  2. Providing administrative and information support to students on running societies and clubs
  3. Coordinating activities of the Staff-Student Social Committee and delivering up to five events a year
  4. Support the communication of student social activities (in conjunction with the marketing team)

Person Specification:

Experience and abilities

  • Bachelors’ degree and proficiency in Hungarian and English (written and oral)
  • Experience of supporting and advising people using face-to-face and online platforms
  • The ability to support people with different cultural backgrounds, languages and levels of spoken English
  • Demonstrable administrative experience using Microsoft Office, Email, Internet and databases
  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and meet deadlines, with excellent organisational skills and common sense
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to convey complex information in a concise and clear manner
