If you have been vaccinated in one of the countries listed on this link, you do not have to go to quarantine when you arrive in Hungary. In all other cases however, a 10-day quarantine is compulsory.

For vaccinated students

If you come from a country that is not on this link, although IBS will accept your vaccination certificate for attending face-to-face classes, you still have to stay in quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. You have two ways of getting out of quarantine: you wait until your quarantine expires (10 days), or you get 2 negative PCR tests.

If you decide to get PCR tests, these are your options:

1 - You can get your first test at Budapest airport: https://www.bud.hu/en/articles/show/1368, or

2 - You can arrange a PCR test at home:

3 - You can visit one of the Covid testing points:

If you decide to visit a Covid testing point you can only leave your residence after receiving permission from the Police. You can request such a document here: https://ugyintezes.police.hu/en/uj-ugy-inditasa/

In order to be released from quarantine, you have to submit two negative PCR test results on this link. You can only leave your residence after receiving permission from the Police.

If you decide to stay in quarantine:

While you are in quarantine, you cannot leave your residence, not even to buy food. To start with, here are some delivery services to get food or medicine to your place (you can find many others on the Internet):

While in quarantine, it is essential to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. Please make sure that you

  • keep a routine
  • talk to someone every day
  • exercise (you can try some workout challenge)
  • eat healthy

If you are having difficulties coping with the quarantine, please contact wellbeing@ibs-b.hu

For unvaccinated students

If you arrive in Hungary unvaccinated, IBS will require you to get vaccinated if you wish to attend face-to-face classes. It is important that you make appropriate arrangements to get vaccinated as soon as possible, in line with the instructions you can read on our Vaccine Guidance page.

Upon arrival in Hungary however, you will be sent to quarantine for 10 days. You have two ways of getting out of quarantine: you wait until your quarantine expires (10 days), or you get 2 negative PCR tests.
