STUDY MODE

As the COVID situation is very good in Hungary with the mass vaccinations going very well, IBS intends to start all programmes with face-to-face classes in February 2022.

We will also offer the option of online classes only in the spring semester of 2021/22 in some programmes.

- Please note that the tuition fees are the same in the online study mode.

You will have to declare if you wish to study with face-to-face classes or online classes in the autumn semester before you enrol at IBS (see your study options under TASKS in your online IBS application and tick the one you choose):

  1. If you choose the online option, you cannot change it to-face-to-face classes later in the semester!
  2. If you choose face-to-face classes, you can enter the campus and your classes only with a valid COVID immunity certificate e.g. Immunity Certificate, medical record of vaccination or medical record attesting that the individual recovered from Covid-19 infection after 1 August 2021. Please find details here

Please note that you will need to spend 10 days in quarantine upon arrival and international students can also get vaccinated in Hungary with a study residence permit. Please take it into consideration when you plan your arrival date.

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

Enrolment is possible primarily face-to-face on the campus. When you arrive in Budapest, please visit the Centre for Student Services at IBS during opening hours. Do not forget to bring all original documents and certificates with you – you will not be able to enrol without presenting them on the spot.

Please check the enrolment period on our website here.

Online enrolment is available for those students who wish to study online in the spring semester and for those ones who are still waiting for their visas in February.

Online enrolment is a video chat where you have to present your original documents and sign the contract of education.

You will have to get an appointment from the Student Centre for your online enrolment date and time, so PLEASE WRITE TO studentadmin@ibs-b.hu if you would like an online enrolment appointment.

After enrolment, the IBS Admissions Team will hand you over to the Student Admin team at the IBS Centre for Student Services, so all further queries should be directed to studentadmin@ibs-b.hu

FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

You can enter the campus only with a valid COVID immunity certificate and after completing your quarantine. Please consider this when you book your flight.

If you chose f2f classes when you enrolled but you cannot arrive on the campus before the first teaching day of your programme, you will study ONLINE until 11 March and join f2f classes from 14 March on condition that you have arrived in Budapest and have received a valid COVID immunity certificate by this date.

COVID UPDATE

Please find our latest update about COVID here.

When you arrive in Budapest, you will be examined medically at the airport and you will have to go for a home quarantine for 10 days if you do not show any symptoms. (Please make sure you do not travel with a fever.)

As far as we know the Hungarian Government does not accept any COVID tests done outside Hungary and the test is not compulsory for entering the country.

If you come from a country with which Hungary has signed an agreement of accepting each other Immunity certificates, you are exempt from the quarantine if you present your vaccination certificate. Please find the current list of countries here: https://konzuliszolgalat.kormany.hu/utazas-a-vedettsegi-igazolvannyal

If you come from a country with which Hungary has no agreement yet, you can be exempt from the quarantine only with an official document that you have had the COVID disease. Even if you have been vaccinated in your country, you will have to take the quarantine in Hungary.

Please buy health insurance in your home country that is valid for 30 days upon entering Hungary.

During your quarantine, you will be assisted by the IBS Wellbeing Team (wellbeing@ibs-b.hu).
