Please click on your programme below to find enrolment details.

You may contact us at info@ibsbudapest.com if something is not clear.

STUDY MODE

IBS will launch all programmes with face-to-face classes (where the student numbers are sufficient) and will normally offer an online study mode option only for those whose visa is delayed and cannot arrive in Budapest in September 2022.

Please note that the MBA in Strategic Data-Driven Management programme will only start with face-to-face classes.

You will have to declare if, based on your visa outlooks, you are expecting to study with face-to-face classes right from the start, with online classes in the first month or with online classes in the entire autumn semester before you enrol at IBS:

See your study options under TASK in your online application and tick the appropiate one.

Please note:

  1. If you select face-to-face classes, you must come to campus to begin your studies as soon as classes start. Please find information about the start of our programmes in our academic calendar here.
  2. If you select the online classes for the first month, you can join face-to-face classes on 17 October 2022 (not before or after)!
  3. If you select online study mode for the entire fall semester, you can arrive in Hungary whenever you get the visa but must continue with ONLINE classes until the end of the fall semester. You will join face-to-face classes from February 2023.

Please note that the tuition fees are the same in all study modes.

The Centre for Student Services will inform you about the study mode of your programme by email.

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

Enrolment is an administrative event, conducted in person or online, where, after checking the original copy of all your key documents, a Contract of Education is signed, whereby you officially become an active student of IBS.

Please check the enrolment period on our website here.

A. Students who do not need a visa can enrol IN PERSON at the Centre for Student Services on the Campus during opening hours.

B. Non-EU Students who receive their study visa should inform IBS about it by email (please attach your visa page) and will have to fill in and upload a DECLARATION form to their online application. This form will inform IBS about the planned date of arrival.

Those students who receive their visas until 25 August 2022 must enrol IN PERSON in Budapest.

C. Those non-EU students who do NOT receive their study visa until 25 August must enrol ONLINE. You will have to get an appointment from the Centre for Student Services for your online enrolment date and time, so PLEASE WRITE TO studentadmin@ibs-b.hu.

Online enrolment is a video chat where you must present your original documents and sign the contract of education.

Please do not forget to bring all original documents and certificates with you to enrolment – you will not be able to enrol without presenting them on the spot.

VISA ISSUES

Currently the Hungarian consulates are overcrowded due to a large demand for studies in Hungary. Because of this, several consulates may not be able to offer you an appointment for a visa interview in time for you to arrive in Hungary before the start of the semester.

To provide our students with as much flexibility as possible, we are offering all IBS applicants the following solution:

IBS applicants who do not receive their visa until September are allowed to start their studies online from September 2022 and complete the entire first semester online if necessary. They can submit their visa application whenever they receive an appointment from the Consulate, and they will be able to travel to Hungary any time after receiving their visa.

This allows you to have more options for interview appointments and travel dates. Also, in case of a visa refusal: until the END OF THE FALL SEMESTER (16 December 2022), IBS applicants will be entitled to a FULL REFUND (with the exception of EUR 300).

Refund policy for the September 2022 intake:

  • Once you have received the admission certificates of IBS for the visa application, you are entitled for a refund only if your visa is refused and you email the visa refusal document to IBS. No other excuse for claiming a refund is accepted.
  • In case your visa is granted, we CANNOT refund you the tuition fee and the registration fee in any circumstances.
  • If your visa is rejected and you have not enrolled yet, EUR 300 from your payment is non-refundable, the rest will be refunded.
  • If your visa is rejected and you have already enrolled, you may reclaim up to 16 December 2022 the full amount of your paid fees with the exception of EUR 300.
We offer you this solution on the condition that:
  1. You pay your tuition fee until 31 August,
  2. You ask the Consulate for a visa appointment until 31 August,
  3. You enrol for staring online and attend your online classes continuously until you receive the visa.
  • If you regularly fail to show up on your classes, your student status and your residence permit will be suspended. In this case you will be asked to leave the country within 8 days and your tuition fee and registration fee will NOT be refunded.
  • If you decide to leave Hungary or to transfer to another institution, the tuition fee and the registration fee will NOT be refunded.
  • Please note that no refunds are available after the last day of the semester’s teaching period (16 December 2022).

ENTERING HUNGARY

Hungary has lifted all COVID restrictions in March 2022 so IBS will not require proof of immunity certificates to attend face-to-face classes during the autumn semester of 2022. However, as the pandemic may return, and also for your own health and safety, we strongly recommend that you come to IBS properly vaccinated.

Non-EU students should buy a health insurance in the home country that is valid for 30 days upon entering Hungary.
