"IBS, with students and teachers arriving from more than 100 countries, is sensitive to man-made and natural crises in the world. These days, we share the pain and concerns of our nearly 60 Turkish and Syrian students. Our Wellbeing team has been in touch with them since the day of the disaster. In addition, relying on the IBS international community, we decided to organise in collaboration with the Hungarian Red Cross a matching-fund campaign to help the Turkish and Syrian victims. During this two-week fundraising campaign, for every Forint received from the IBS community, IBS will also donate one Forint, doubling the total amount."

László Láng Dr., rector

“It is never too late to send aid to the region, because there are still hundreds of thousands of survivors in the region in need of basic needs including shelter (winter tents/containers), sanitation (mobile toilets/bathrooms/showers), beds/sleeping bags/blankets, heaters, generators and medical care, among others. Cash donations is the best form of aid currently, because the needs of the people in the region are constantly changing and the official aid agencies can address and procure those needs more swiftly with cash donations. Also, the most urgently needed items such as prefabricated shelters, winter tents, and mobile toilets/bathrooms are logistically procured more easily and fast from the market. The money to be collected will be channeled for these procurements.”

Meltem Güney, First Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission, Turkish Embassy in Budapest
